"Striving to greatness is a marathon rather than a sprint"

What you need to know about Personal Trainer Mark Peterson

Sports and Wellbeing - Feature

By Rakin Harrasy

Mark Peterson is currently a Personal Trainer working all over the world. His journey to fame has not been simple , he best describes it as a "marathon rather than a sprint". He has faced many difficulties that life has thrown at him ,but through hard work and perseverance, he has always strived for greatness.

Mark was not in the best physical condition and his heavy workload really impacted on his health together with family problems and difficulties with personal relationships , so he had an array of problems he had to deal with on the daily basis. . Until one day he collapsed in the street and found himself lying on a hospital bed. The doctor said he suffered a severe heart attack and it's a miracle that he was still alive. Mark was 450lbs and needed to lose weight to save his life for the future.

“I started to, in a way, hate myself,” he said.

"I was on my death bed" he said.

He believes his obesity was mainly caused by work coupled with the divorce of his parents, and he turned his feelings of loss and anger inward. During work while everyone else saw a happy popular colleague , he hated the way he looked. Deep inside there was a boy tortured by intense pain that kept ratcheting up day by day.

"I was so scared. I never want to be in that position again'

But one day he began to use sports as a way to escape his pain. Mark found his love of the gym and other exercises , after a close friend recommended it to him and he has never looked back since.

Mark not only took wellbeing into consideration , but also diet which positively impacted his drive and determination to do better in his life.

With a regular and consistent training and diet regime, he felt like he was the best ever possible version of himself. He lost 200lbs in only 1 year . His personal relationships, his work and family life  all improved since considering a healthier wellbeing. But he didn't stop there. He continued to strive for his goals of being a personal trainer in a local gym, but now works alongside highly popular Gym companies like Hard Body , GymShark and MyProtein and is a key ambassador for all collective brands.

"It's a real honour to represent these brands. Never give up on your dreams"

Mark is living proof that you can get anywhere in life with hard work and determination. Now he is always be ready for the next challenges ahead.
